#1 FFF │ Why I write about fierce female founders
After being a good corporate citizen for over 13 years, I finally decided to jump off the ship. Now I am in the second year of entrepreneurship as a founder of the50ml, a marketplace for gourmet condiments with a personalized recommendation engine (yup, you heard that right ‘Gourmet Condiment’ like olive oil, hot sauce, and on and on.)
Recently, I attended at Google Female Founder Launchpad and met many smart and inspiring female founders. It was really cool how you can talk to someone who understands your struggles and passion. (Unlike many other conferences I have been to, all the attendees slash female founders at this event are excellent listeners that it actually took me for a while to get used to uninterrupted and undivided attention along with nodding.) Yet, there weren’t still many of us and made me realize how I want to reach out more female founders or founders-to-be and decided to write a blog as a female founder.
Initially I wanted to wait to publicly come out as a female founder till I make at the least series B funding thinking I would have better stories to tell. Then who knows how long it would take me to get there yet I never felt so strong to talk to more female founders.
So, here is my story specifically about fierce female founders I met or my journey as a founder hoping to connect with more female founders or founders-to-be either offline or online. I have already met many FFF and their stories are too good not to share. Also I will talk about my experience as the first-time entrepreneur maybe it’s not too much gender specific but I am a female founder after all so it’s related one way or another.
Lastly, my goal is to write 10 articles for this year even though I have so much to talk about, I have to admit that I am a procrastinator when it comes down to writing a blog. Please bear with me and meanwhile feel free to shoot me an email at Jiwon.hong@outlook.com for a coffee break to talk about FFF if you are ever in South Bay area.
